Six Generations of Keeping Things Moving
Our story begins in the late 1800s with Samuel W. Smith Sr. and Samuel W. Smith Jr., who built a reputation as hardworking entrepreneurs and respected members of the Frankford community. Over time, Samuel W. Smith III joined the business, helping expand operations and further establish the company as a trusted local provider.
Originally operating as S. W. Smith & Co., the business evolved over the years, adapting to the needs of the community. Historical records show the company operated as wholesalers and distillers in the late 1890s and early 1900s, before shifting focus towards hauling services around 1914 as Philadelphia continued to grow.
As generations of the Smith family joined the business, the commitment remained the same: work hard, serve the community, and keep things moving.
Today, six generations later, we proudly continue that tradition as S. W. Smith Moving & Hauling, LLC. providing dependable moving services throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
